I would love to share
with you the scientific way of meditation. Human life span is maximum 100
years. Than how could one meditate for such a very long time period? But Indian
Scriptures have answer. There are a lot of stories of long meditation in Indian
Scriptures. It means there is a way with which one can meditate for thousand
thousands of years. In Indian Epic Ramayana, Mahabharata there are couple of
events of such a very long meditation. It is mentioned in Ramayana Epic that Ravana
did meditation for thousands of years, guru Vasishth did it, guru Vishwa Mitra
also did the same.
It means it is
possible to meditate for thousands of years. Such a long meditation is known as
“Tapasya.”Ravana Asura did tapas for a thousand years. Vishwamitra did the tapasya for twelve
thousand years. Worldwide, the average life span is 71 years. According to
Indian Scriptures one can practice meditation for such a long period. Meditation
is a bridge to contact your higher self. When it practices with proper method
it would generate tremendous knowledge and tremendous power within you. In
India great spiritual scientists discover different ways to meditate. Some ways
are slow; some are moderate while some are special and very fast.
I would love to
introduce such a great way of meditation/Tapasya with the help of which you
could be able to meditate for thousands of years. This way of yoga is known as
aeroplanic way.
This great way of practicing
meditation is known as Kriya Yoga. Kriya Yoga is a comprehensive spiritual path
that was brought to the West by Paramhansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography
of a Yogi. Kriya also refers to the specific technique that is part of the
spiritual path taught by Paramhansa Yogananda.
Kriya Yoga is
described by its practitioners as the ancient Yoga system revived in modern
times by Mahavatar Babaji through his disciple Lahiri Mahasaya, c. 1861.
According to
Yogananda the ancient Yogic text the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, contains a
description of Kriya Yoga in the second chapter II 49 "Liberation can be
attained by that pranayama which is accomplished by disjoining the course of
inspiration and expiration.”
Kriya Yoga, as taught
by Lahiri Mahasaya, is traditionally exclusively learned via the Guru-disciple
relationship and the initiation consists of a secret ceremony.
As Yogananda
describes Kriya Yoga, "The Kriya Yogi mentally directs his life energy to
revolve, upward and downward, around the six spinal centers (medullary,
cervical, dorsal, lumbar, sacral, and coccygeal plexuses) which correspond to
the twelve astral signs of the zodiac, the symbolic Cosmic Man. One half-minute
of revolution of energy around the sensitive spinal cord of man effects subtle
progress in his evolution; that half-minute of Kriya equals one year of natural
spiritual unfoldment."
So as described by
Paramhansa Yogananda ji half-minute of Kriya equals one year of natural
spiritual unfoldment. It means if one practice it one hour daily it would be
equal to 60 years of natural spiritual advancement.
One year regular practice
of Kriya Yoga would be equal to 21900 years of natural spiritual advancement.
This is very secret
yoga and can only be learned via the Guru-disciple relationship and the
initiation consists of a secret ceremony.
